Mobile Eye Health Program
Our ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health Unit allows us to meet people where they are and safely connect the underserved individuals to vision care, who may not otherwise have vision services available to them. We travel to specific locations based on partners in the community, grants available, and where our programs will best serve Orange County, California.

Surf City Screenings
January 16, 2024 | Huntington Beach, California
It warms our hearts to be able to bring vision care to people who may not otherwise have services available to them.
ECN Purpose partnered with Robyne’s Nest, of Huntington Beach, to provide students with vision screenings to assess their eye health and need for prescription eyewear. Dr. Jacqueline Vu administered the vision screenings and answered questions the students had about their vision.
For most students at Robyne’s Nest, regular health examinations have not been a part of their lives. At the event, ECN Purpose provided an educational session on “Signs You May Need an Eye Exam” and general eye health.

Holiday Bear Donation

We had so much fun hosting our first Bear Decorating Fundraiser!
Participants made a difference this holiday season by spending a crafty afternoon getting cute stuffed animals ready for their new homes.
The stuffed animals were donated to local charity, Laura's House, in support of their 2023 Spirit of Empowerment Holiday Giving Program.

Eye Exams for Orange County Youths

Our ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health Unit made an appearance at Covenant House on September 26, 2023. Dr. Thu Phan, of Fiat Lux Optometry, generously volunteered her time and services to provide free eye exams for the youth at Covenant House. Helping people achieve their fullest visual potential is Dr. Phan's passion.

Back-to-School Vision Screenings
August 6, 2023 | Irvine, California
ECN Purpose partnered with local nonprofit, Operation Be Kind, for their annual “Back-to-School” event helping Title I schools in Orange County. With its Mobile Eye Health Unit, ECN Purpose was onsite providing vision screenings by Edward Tran, O.D. and John Monteleone, O.D and distributed educational material regarding how vision can affect learning. The event took place at Motion Fitness in Irvine, who provided the event space. Invited students were given the opportunity to select backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, clothes, and school supplies in preparation for the upcoming school year.
We believe this event made a lasting impact on the lives of children who attended with their families.

With our Mobile Eye Health van, we serve the community by providing eye health education, vision screenings, and eye exams. Our team consists of volunteer licensed eye doctors, optometric technicians, and dedicated ECN Purpose staff.

We partner with other nonprofit organizations in the community to provide vision screenings and eye exams at scheduled events for their members. When our event partners open their events to the public, we will list the details on our website and social media.

Insurance coverage is not required when we have events with our nonprofit partners as all services are provided free of charge. Please note that Medi-Cal provides eyewear for its eligible members.
